Help us open our doors for Ramadan and grow in the year to come!

Thabaat is a community space building spiritual and social connections for young professionals in the Metro Detroit area.

Thabaat means firmness, constancy, and stability. It comes from the most repeated supplication of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): “Oh Turner of Hearts, keep our hearts firm upon Your path.” We are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for young professionals of all levels of faith and practice to find good company, engaging conversation, and a constant source of strength on their spiritual journeys.

Our efforts are under the guidance and mentorship of Miftaah Institute.

What We've Done
In February 2023, we launched Thabaat with a bi-weekly halaqa facilitated by Shaykh Dr. Abdul Aziz Waheed and Br. Tareq Tamr. We added pop-ups and social events on off-weeks, hosted free weekly Ramadan iftars, and started the first Muslim young professionals conference in Michigan. We ended the year having served about 4000 attendees across 30 events with our team of 20+ volunteers, alhamdulillah.

In 2024, we continued our bi-weekly program and pop-ups, but we added more. We hosted our first banquet to prepare for hosting over 1000 guests for weekly iftars. In May, we hosted a nature retreat for 100 young professionals, and in September, we launched our second flagship program, Thabaat30, a monthly halaqa for ages 30+ featuring scholar and therapist Shaykh Tariq Musleh.

In October, we organized our second annual conference, this time adding a dedicated professional networking session. In November, we did our first Umrah trip. Throughout the year, we continuously invested in our biweekly halaqas, adding games, activities, and Q&A to the social hours, as a result of expanding our volunteer capacity through regular meetings and get-togethers. By the end of 2024, we served over 5000 attendees across 38 events with our team of 30+ volunteers.

Our Goal
In 2025, our goal is to increase our output to 40-50 events. Along with maintaining our existing programs and events, we are aiming to add quarterly workshops for life skills and professional development, quarterly charitable giving events, and a monthly book club. We are also hoping to increase our media output by producing original videos and podcasts. We are looking to raise $100,000 to cover our operational costs, increase media production, increase human resource capacity, and continue toward a path of self-sustainability.
