As AI reshapes workplaces and daily life at a breakneck pace, Thabaat is excited to bring together Muslim professionals working in the AI space for our first Professional Fireside Chat. Join us for a conversation that moves past buzzwords and headlines to explore the tensions and opportunities this technology presents.

Is there an ethical difference between how we engage with AI compared to navigating the internet and social media? Should there be a difference between our personal and professional use of AI? What are some practical guidelines that can help us make the most of the opportunities ahead of us in 2026?

Rather than approaching AI as either a looming threat or a utopian solution, this event aims to equip our community with a mindset: how to test new tools, assess their usefulness, and navigate a rapidly shifting landscape as innovators rather than observers.

Meet the Panelists:

Ayman Alhadheri is a practicing emergency medicine physician and ER medical director in Phoenix, Arizona. He also holds a degree in Global Health and is board certified in AI and Medicine. He sits on national steering committees developing guidelines for the responsible use of AI in healthcare. Ayman is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Plexus Clinical, a company delivering the connective infrastructure that modern medicine, clinical research, and healthcare operations are missing. Beyond his professional work, Ayman is a khateeb and community organizer, serving on the boards of masajid, schools, and community organizations.

Kenan Alkiek holds degrees in Computer Science and Applied Statistics and is currently completing his PhD at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on small language models and applications in healthcare. He began his journey in machine learning at NASA and has since been awarded grants from OpenAI and NVIDIA in support of his research. Alongside his academic work, Kenan has volunteered with Yaqeen Institute since 2018.
